Renowned Swiss manufacture Jaeger-LeCoultre celebrates its 175th anniversary in 2008. To mark the momentous occasion, the 'Grand Maison' has introduced a series of four limited edition timepieces, which respect milestones of achievement and symbolize the brand's excellence in various specialties of haute horlogerie. The collection is composed of four models:
-MASTER MINUTE REPEATER: This exceptional watch features a 44mm 18K rose gold case, and a skeleton dial that reveals the complex 413-piece manually-wound mechanism. The minute repeater mechanism is notable for its crystal gongs, which amplify the repeater chimes to an extraordinary degree. This model will be limited to a series of 175.
-MASTER EIGHT DAYS PERPETUAL SQ: Presented in a 41.5mm 18K rose gold case, this watch reveals the fascination of the perpetual calendar complication with a masterfully decorated skeleton movement showcasing a system of transparent rotating calendar indications; fully two months are required to complete the mechanism, which comprises 260 individual pieces. Power reserve is 8 days, thanks to a system of two mainspring barrels. The Master Eight Days Perpetual SQ watch is limited to a series of 175 pieces.
-MASTER GRAND TOURBILLON: Showcasing a 43mm 18K rose gold case, and a radially-patterned chocolate brown dial, this watch houses the most famous of complications--the tourbillon, whose ultra light titanium carriage weighs a scant 0.28 grams. This ingenious, complex self-winding movement also incorporates a 24-hour second timezone display and a specially designed pointer-type date indicator which does not obscure the tourbillon. Limited to a series of 575 pieces.
-MASTER ULTRA THIN: A shining representative of the dress watch genre, this watch features a 38mm 18K rose gold case, whose flowing lines accentuate the rich chocolate brown dial with its gold cabochon minute track and dauphine hands. Although apparently simple, this watch is a technical feat in miniature, with its Jaeger-LeCoultre Caliber 849 movement that is made up of 123 pieces arranged in a record space of just 1.85 millimeters. Due to the unique architecture and constructive solutions this ultra-slim movement requires, each is entrusted to the manufacture's Atelier des Spécialités Horlogères. This watch will be limited to a series of 575 pieces.
