Platinum Guild International and Couture partnered to sponsor the first annual Platinum Couture Style Challenge held at Couture in Las Vegas.
Kwiat was one of the recipients of the six categories winning the Platinum Couture Bridal Atelier award – the award for high end platinum bridal above $5,000 MSRP. Kwiat tied for this award with Rotenier.
The design competition gave exhibiting Couture designers the opportunity to showcase and highlight their most distinguished platinum pieces. In addition to receiving a Platinum Couture Style Challenge trophy, each will be featured in at least two of PGI’s consumer media programs in 2008-2009. The challenge was judged exclusively by leading fashion and industry media and Hollywood stylists based on the originality, wearability and appropriateness of the piece in its category.
Kwiat entered a radiant platinum and diamond headband which was an updated tiara style with platinum and diamond flowers. Rotenier created a platinum mini Deauville link necklace with a platinum disc enhancer with 10 carats of diamonds and a one-of-a-kind hand carved aquamarine with tassel chain.
The other five categories included the Platinum Couture Red Carpet (winner: Erica Courtney), Platinum Couture Luxury for Everday (winner: Erica Courtney), Platinum Couture Colors (winner: Steven Kretchmer), and Platinum Couture Bridal Boutique (winner: Brian Sholdt). More than 40 Couture exhibitors participated in the joint Platinum Guild International and Couture design challenge.
