Mikimoto Releases Self-Titled Book to Commemorate 150th Anniversary of Founders Birth

Commemorating the 150^th anniversary of the birth of its eponymous founder, Mikimoto has partnered with Assouline Publishing to bring the simply titled book “Mikimoto” to life. The book tells of the all-consuming passion of Kokichi Mikimoto to create the cultured pearl and reveal its natural beauty to the world. After several failed attempts, Kokichi was successful in perfecting the technique to create these gems of the sea and over time the name Mikimoto became synonymous with the pearl. Mikimoto continues to be internationally recognized as the standard – a very high standard – in cultured pearl jewelry. Mikimoto pearls rank with the top echelon of iconic jewelry houses adorning women in the mysterious pearls for over a hundred years.
