Montblanc Supports Young Directors Project At Salzburg Festival

Luxury pen and watch brand Montblanc has again provided its generous support to the Young Directors Project, a drama competition within the Salzburg Festival for young theatre directors and their production companies.  The premiere took place on July 31st, accompanied by a special appearance of French film star and Montblanc ambassador Eva Green.

Montblanc has been involved with the Young Directors Project since 2002, supporting it with proceeds generated from sales of the Salzburg Special Edition fountain pens dedicated to Max Reinhardt, the Austrian director who co-founded the Salzburg Festival in 1920 with composer Richard Strauss and writer Hugo von Hofmannsthal.

The Young Directors Project is a significant event for aspiring directors around the world, enabling them to obtain critical press exposure in German-speaking countries.  2008 marks the first year that acting companies from both America and Japan have taken part in the event; the other two companies hail from Norway and Germany.  On August 22nd, Montblanc will present the winner of the competition with a prize of 10,000 Euros and the Montblanc Salzburg Special Edition "Hommage à Max Reinhardt" fountain pen.
