"Quantum of Solace" Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean: James Bond's New Watch

In November, "Quantum of Solace", the newest installment in the James Bond saga, will drive hordes of fans to theaters around the world.  To coincide with the release, Omega has presented a special version of its Seamaster Planet Ocean 600m watch.  The watch can be spotted on the wrist of Daniel Craig in the film. 

Presented in stainless steel, the Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean 600m Co-Axial "Quantum Of Solace" Limited Edition watch showcases several special features which have not been shown on this model in the past.  The most conspicuous of these details is a sapphire crystal which has been laser engraved on its inner surface with a "Quantum of Solace" decoration.   Also unique is the black textured dial, whose pattern mimics the checkering found on the grip panels of the Walther PPK pistol--James Bond's traditionally preferred sidearm.  Finally, the caseback presents an 007 medallion, along with the edition and the individual number of the watch.  

Basic technical features of the Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean "Quantum of Solace" watch are the same as that of the basic Seamaster Planet Ocean 600m model.  Water resistant to a depth of 2000 feet/600 meters, the 45.5mm timepiece is equipped with a screwed helium valve, a graduated unidirectional bezel, a screw-down winding crown, and a steel bracelet with a double push-button safety clasp and dive extension.  Movement is the self-winding Omega 2500 caliber, which features a stop seconds function, a rapid adjust date display, and a power reserve of 48 hours; the caliber also employs the Omega Co-Axial escapement, which reduces friction and promotes long-term timekeeping performance.  As a result of passing 15 days of precision testing, the caliber has earned the official title of "chronometer" from the Controle Officiel Suisse des Chronometres(COSC).

Omega will release 5,007 pieces of the "Quantum of Solace" Seamaster Planet Ocean watch.  Each timepiece is supplied with a thematic black presentation box.
