Basel 2008: Panerai Special Editions 2008 Luminor Regatta Chronograph Watch

The Panerai Special Editions 2008 Luminor Regatta Chronograph watch features a 44mm stainless steel case with a brushed finish, a polished tachymeter bezel, and a convex sapphire crystal treated with an anti-reflective coating.  The black dial is decorated with a 'Clous de Paris' hobnail pattern; two large Arabic numerals at 6 and 12, and the hour marker dots are all accented with SuperLuminova for optimal nighttime legibility.   The central chronograph hand is distinguished by its brilliant blue finish, as is the initial 5-minute sector on the chronograph minute counter at the 3 o'clock position.  A rubber strap is fitted to the watch, which is personalized with the Panerai logo.  Water resistance of the timepiece is 100 meters, the crown being protected from moisture intrusion by the patented Panerai crown locking system.  

A manually wound movement animates the Panerai Luminor Regatta Chronograph watch.  This movement, designated as the Panerai OP XXVI caliber, has earned a COSC chronometer certificate after passing 15 days of precision testing in various positions and temperatures.  The caliber is equipped with a Glucydur balance that alternates 28,800 times per hour.  Power reserve is 46 hours.  

The Panerai Special Editions 2008 Luminor Regatta Chronograph watch will be limited to a series of 500 pieces.  Each will be supplied with a second interchangeable strap, a tool to change the straps, and a steel screwdriver.   The caseback features a 'Classic Yachts Challenge 2008' engraving.
