Sotheby's Geneva Auction On November 16th To Feature Watches By Patek Philippe, Rolex And Others

Sotheby's Geneva will be holding a sale of important watches at 13 Quai du Mont Blanc, at 8:00PM on November 16th, 2008.  The sale will present approximately 200 timepieces, with a historical range from the 17th century to the present.  Among the many desirable marques to be represented in the Sotheby's November 16th auction include Patek Philippe, Rolex, Audemars Piguet, Breguet, IWC, and Vacheron Constantin.  A highlight of the sale is an exceptional Patek Philippe Ref. 3448 perpetual calendar wristwatch in 18K yellow gold, which has been described as unique; it carries a pre-sale estimate of 1.3 million to 2 million Swiss Francs.

Patek Philippe is one of the most desirable brands at auction," stated Geoffroy Ader, Head of Watches for Sotheby's Geneva.  "Last May, the 'Trossi Leggenda', an important chronograph wristwatch formerly the property of Count Carlo Felice sold for more than CHF 2 million. With 'The Unique Patek Philippe Ref. 3448' estimated at CHF / $ 1,300,000-2,000,000 and 'The Pink Patek Philippe Ref. 2499 First Series' estimated at CHF / $1,200,000-1,800,000, the autumn sale includes, once again, remarkable examples of Patek Philippe’s historical production”.
