Piaget Unites With Pilara Polo Team

Swiss watchmaker Piaget has strengthened its ties to the historic sport of polo by forming an alliance with the Argentinean club Pilara.  The Piaget Pilara team carries a 37-goal handicap between its star players Sebastian Merlos, Agustin Merlos, and Santiago Chavanne and is pre-selected to compete in the Triple Crown that is set to take place from September 23 to December 6.  To encourage the development of promising young polo talents, Piaget and the Pilara club have also inaugurated a 26-goal handicap team which will compete in the Chamber of Deputies tournament held November 11th through December 3rd.  

Since the decade of the 1980's, Piaget has been actively involved with polo, lending its support to the World Cup and the USPA Gold Cup.  The early polo events in Palm Beach became synonymous with Piaget, and the brand's elegant image engendered it to film stars, the wealthy and other elite members of society who are the most enthusiastic followers of the prestigious equestrian sport.
