Baselworld 2009: Raymond Weil Cosi Grande Jumping Hour Watch
By Adam Keith, Associate Timepiece Editor for ViaLuxe-

The delightful jumping hour complication takes center stage upon Raymond Weil's newest Don Giovanni Cosi Grande timepiece.  One of the highlights of Raymond Weil's Baselworld 2009 offerings, the Don Giovanni Cosi Grande Jumping Hour stands out for its elegant presentation and sophisticated horological charm.  The Raymond Weil Cosi Grande Jumping Hour watch is crafted from stainless steel.  The lustrous polish applied to this handsome rectangular case compliments the alluring contrast of dial with its silver and black color schemes.  This captivating two-tone canvas provides an ideal backdrop for the overlapping circular displays for the hours and small seconds.  The window at 12 o'clock presents the eye-catching digital hour, which advances with a precise snap when the minute hand completes its revolution.

A sapphire crystal window in the screwed caseback of the Raymond Weil Cosi Grande Jumping Hour watch showcases the self-winding (ETA-based) RW 1400 mechanical movement, with its circular-grained bridges and a central rotor with Cotes de Geneve patterns.  Frequency of the glucydur balance is 28,800 vibrations per hour, and power reserve is 42 hours.

The Raymond Weil Cosi Grande Jumping Hour watch is fitted with a rectangular sapphire crystal, and has a water resistance rating of 30 meters.  The timepiece can be obtained on a saddle-stitched strap in alligator leather, or a polished stainless steel bracelet with folding clasp and dual push-piece security element.
