TAG Heuer has unveiled two new models which will join their historically important Carrera watch collection. The pre-Baselworld announcement coincides with the recent January 30 inauguration of the TAG Heuer 360 thematic museum, in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland.
The TAG Heuer Carrera Calibre 1 Vintage features a polished 43mm stainless steel case, a matte black dial with a hobnail patterned central section, and a sporty sub seconds indicator with a two-piece seconds hand that adds a colorful touch. Limited to an edition of 6000 pieces, the Carrera Calibre 1 Vintage incorporates a manual winding mechanical movement traditionally used in 1960's-era pocket watches, which can be seen through the sapphire crystal exhibition back. Straps will be in alligator leather, or rubber, and may be easily interchanged.
The TAG Heuer Grand Carrera Calibre 17 RS2 will present an extremely cutting-edge sports vision, being crafted from blackened Grade 2 titanium with a crown, dial and alligator strap highlighted by daring accents of red. Animated by a COSC-certified automatic movement which displays a unique chronograph system with fixed hands and a rotating scale, the Grand Carrera Caliber 17 RS2 timepiece has a date display and is fitted with a tachymeter bezel to calculate average speeds. Equipped with a distinctive double sapphire back, this limited edition TAG Heuer watch will be offered in an edition of 1000 pieces.
