At the prestigious Grand Prix de Horlogerie de Geneve awards ceremony on November 13, 2008, Swiss watchmaker TAG Heuer claimed the top prize in the Sports category for its Grand Carrera Calibre 36 RS Caliper Chronograph. Introduced at Baselworld 2008, this dynamic addition to the historic Carrera collection features novel rotating chronograph displays, a linear seconds indicator and an overall design concept inspired by contemporary GT cars.
The award is the latest of several watch industry accolades that TAG Heuer has received for the Grand Carrera Calibre 36 RS Caliper Chronograph. In China, the watch won a "Most Successful Design Award 2008"; it was also critically acclaimed at Mexico's Salon Internacional de Alta Relojeria 2008.
Expressing his delight in earning the jury's top Sports category prize, TAG Heuer CEO Jean-Christophe Babin said, "It is the fifth time TAG Heuer is awarded the Grand Prix de l'Horlogerie...but every time is the first time! This is a great achievement for the people at TAG Heuer. We never stand still and always think forward re-inventing watchmaking craft to achieve the next innovation."
