TAG Heuer's eagerly awaited MERIDIIST luxury phone experienced an extremely succesful pilot launch in London, where it sold out at Selfridges London. Within the day, the store's entire stock had sold out.
"It was incredible," remarked Ian Broad, Sales Manager for the UK region. "During peak times there were literally queues of customers waiting to see the TAG Heuer MERIDIIST. The corner where the tower display was situated was so full of people the corridor was completely blocked." The Selfridges Floor Manager was also taken aback by the enthusiasm directed towards the MERIDIIST phone by both consumers and sales staff alike, and noted that the company is back-ordered on the phones for some time.
Steve Amstutz, General Manager of TAG Heuer Communication Instruments, stated, ""This gives us a real indication of the success that can be expected from this extraordinary new TAG Heuer product. It is also a great testament to the strength of the TAG Heuer brand. With such a successful jump start, the full MERIDIIST line will be progressively launched in 15 additional markets by year end 2008".
TAG Heuer will offer the MERIDIIST phone via TAG Heuer exclusive boutiques, and specially selected retailers which have been chosen for their outstanding service, according to the company. For those who wish to obtain additional information, or pre-reserve a MERIDIIST phone, TAG Heuer has also created a convenient online service.
