Ulysse Nardin Chairman Luxury Service Behind The Luxury Phone

Luxury goods usually have luxury service to go with them. Part of the pride of ownership is the ongoing support you pay a premium for. Luxury mobile phones are relatively new in the luxury world, and present certain considerations not previously addressed by luxury makers. What do you do when an item has a theoretical technology lifespan of just a few short years, but the item itself is nicely constructed and luxurious on the outside? This is the problem with high-end luxury phones - goods meant to last in a world of rapidly developing technology. The risk is a large investment to buy the best of the best, when the beauty might be skin deep only months after purchase.
Traditional watch maker, now also mobile phone maker, Ulysse Nardin has created a system that addresses this very issue - literally going to the heart of the problem. Buyers of the Ulysse Nardin Chairman Smartphone will have the option to enroll in an annual service plan that costs 10% of the price of the phone model they purchased, each year. Chairman owners will send their phones in twice a year for cleaning, polishing, and upgrades. While the phone is away, Ulysse Nardin gives you a loaner to use. The upgrade process involves updating the phone’s firmware (device hardware) as well as hardware when necessary. Essentially, during this time Ulysse Nardin has a range of options to keep the phone fresh and technologically relevant. The service center is available for repairs as well, and best of all, the service plan is also an insurance policy. Meaning that if you lose the phone, Ulysse Nardin gives you a new one.
Launching soon, the Ulysse Nardin will be a smart phone with all the personality and tradition - as well as quality you come to expect from Ulysse Nardin brand. Unique to the device, it will feature a rotor that helps charge the phone as well as the ability to charge the phone manually via winding the crown - in addition to plugging it in of course. Anyone with a GMS mobile phone plan will be able to use the unlocked Chairman phone with a SIM card. Due around fall of 2009. Check out www.uncells.com.
