New for Swiss watch manufacture Zenith at Baselworld 2009 is an attractive addition to its Class collection that deftly combines the classic moon phase complication with a dual-disc large date display. Offered in stainless steel as well as 18-karat yellow or rose gold, the vintage-inspired Zenith Class Elite Moonphase features a 40mm case with a polished bezel and lugs, a curved sapphire crystal, and a silvered dial with a satin outer section, and a "Clous de Paris" guilloche center.
Animating the Zenith Class Elite Moonphase Grande Date watch is the in-house manufactured Zenith Elite 691 caliber. Comprising 228 individual parts, this self-winding mechanical movement features a balance vibrating at a pace of 28,800 beats per hour, a power reserve of 50 hours, and a hacking seconds function. Aesthetic refinements visible through the sapphire crystal display back include circular graining on the mainplate, and a circular Cotes de Geneve pattern on the bridges.
The Zenith Class Elite Moonphase Grande Date watch is water resistant to 30 meters. A hand-sewn alligator strap and a buckle in 18-karat gold or stainless steel decorated with the Zenith star complete the timepiece.
