SIHH 2008: Zenith Mega Port Royal Tourbillon El Primero Watch

The Zenith Mega Port Royal Tourbillon watch enriches the dynamic Zenith Port Royal Collection with a complex and extremely prestigious execution.  The watch utilizes Zenith's El Primero 4007C caliber, which features a chronograph function, a one-minute tourbillon, and a horizontal power reserve indicator.  

The case of this Zenith watch is realized in black titanium, and measures an imposing 40 X 57mm.  The distinctive grill which covers the fascinating TR90 dial is also manufactured from black titanium.  Sapphire crystals are fitted to both sides of the watch.  Water resistance is rated at 50 meters.

The movement comprises 298 individual components, and 35 jewels.  The balance wheel beats 36,000 times per hour, enabling the chronograph to offer precision timing to within 1/10th of a second.  A central rotor crafted from tungsten carbide enables efficient winding upon the wrist.  Power reserve is approximately 55 hours, at full mainspring tension, the status of which is shown on a horizontal power reserve indicator upon the dial.   The ultra-lightweight tourbillon assembly is comprised of 56 individual pieces; technically notable is the silicon anchor. This feature greatly reduces friction in the escapement.  

The Zenith Mega Port Royal Tourbillon watch is fitted with a rubber Zenith strap and a Port-Royal triple-folding buckle made from black titanium which is stamped with the Zenith star insignia.
