Zenith Defy Xtreme Chronograph watch The Zenith Defy Xtreme Chronograph watch represents a new vista of technical expression for this established and prestigious Swiss watch manufacturer. A stark departure from the classical ChronoMaster and Class timepiece collections, the Defy Xtreme offerings from Zenith showcase traditional Zenith horological expertise within new forms that push the boundaries of style, fashion, and uncompromising sports performance. The first thing about the Zenith Defy Xtreme Chronograph watch which captures the eye is the striking dial. Made from a daring combination of hesalite glass, carbon fiber and aluminum, its strongly technical aesthetics borrow thematic inspiration from highly complex and precisely calibrated machinery. Durability is another critical design parameter of the Zenith Defy watch collection; equipped with screw-down chronograph pushpieces, and a protected screw-down crown, the imposing 46.5mm case is fully water resistant to a crushing depth of 1000 meters. Crafted from black titanium, the case is extremely lightweight, brutally strong, and has a unique technical fascination that is fully in keeping with the multiple fine details that distinguish the watch's overall design. The Zenith Defy Xtreme Chronograph watch utilizes a mechanism which is well-loved by watch connoisseurs. Although introduced in 1969, the specifications for the Zenith El Primero chronograph calibers remain as modern as tomorrow, with their exclusively rapid balance wheel frequency of 36,000 alternations per hour. The movement inside this watch, designated as the Zenith 4000SX caliber, is controlled by a column-wheel and shows off a fully integrated, non-modular chronograph construction. Capable of measuring independent intervals of elapsed time with a precision of 1/10 second, this movement also features a quickly settable date display. Wound by a massive central rotor, this automatic movement quickly accumulates a power reserve of 55 hours, and despite its intricate functions, is highly durable thanks to specially strengthened bridges which Zenith has developed specifically for the Defy Xtreme watch collection. A specially constructed bracelet provides the perfect compliment to these Zenith Defy Xtreme timepieces. It is made from stainless steel which is reinforced with carbon fiber and composite materials, as well as Kevlar lateral inserts for uncompromising strength. Attractive and tough in equal measure, it joins the watch securely to the wrist of its adventurous owner by means of a triple deployant clasp. The fine carbon fiber accents handsomely match those found on both the winding crown and chronograph pushpieces.
