Famous watchmaker Longines will carry on its rich history of association with prestigious sports disciplines, honoring some of the world's most elegant equestrian stars. On Sunday, May 11th, 10 female and 10 male riders chosen for their top performance in the six Super League events, particularly the Jumping International Officiel de France in Le Baulle, will be placed before a jury of international journalists. The male and female riders deemed most elegant of the group will receive a Longines Press Award for Elegance, two Longines watches, and a prize of 20,000 Swiss Francs.
Longines was founded in St. Imier, Switzerland in 1831, and is famed for its rich history in both watchmaking and sports timekeeping. The brand's role in equestrian sports is particularly notable; currently, Longines can claim a roster of distinguished ambassadors in the field, including Markus Fuchs, Maryline Vorpe, and Jane Richard.
