The Jaeger-LeCoultre Grande Reverso 976 watch is an exceptional continuation of the legendary rectangular timepiece the manufacture from Le Sentier debuted in 1931.  Distinguished by a new manually wound movement and a case which is impressively slender yet noticeably more wrist filling than most time-only Reverso references, the Grande Reverso 976 assures the continued popularity of Jaeger-LeCoultre's most emblematic design.

The 48.5 mm x 30 mm case of the Grande Reverso 976 watch is produced in stainless steel or 18-karat pink gold.  The lustrous polished finish emphasizes the sublime elegance of the silvery dials, which feature a satined peripheral section, and a center with a Clous de Paris guilloche pattern.  The slender hands indicating the hours, minute and small seconds hands are crafted from blued steel; they exude impeccable elegance yet offer optimal contrast for easily reading the time.  

By rotating the case in its frame, the Jaeger-LeCoultre Grande Reverso 976 comes into view through a second sapphire crystal on the back. Like all modern Jaeger-LeCoultre movements, this new shaped caliber, a 2009 debut, is manufactured in-house.  Comprising 151 individual parts and standing 4.15 millimeters in height, the 19-jewel Caliber 976 has been designed specifically to accommodate the larger dimensions of the Grande Reverso case.  A modest three-quarter bridge design draws attention to the large freely sprung balance wheel, which beats at a rapid pace of 28,800 vibrations per hour.  Cotes de Geneve and circular graining adorn the bridges and mainplate, respectively.  Power reserve of the Caliber 976 is 48 hours.  In keeping with Jaeger-LeCoultre's demanding standard of excellence in precision timekeeping, each movement undergoes a rigorous 1000 hour testing period in the Jaeger-LeCoultre laboratory.  

The Jaeger-LeCoultre Grande Reverso 976 watch is matched with a hand-sewn alligator leather strap and a triple-deployant clasp in stainless steel or 18-karat gold.  Water resistance is rated for 30 meters.
