Louis Moinet Vertalis Tourbillon Watch, Limited Edition Of 12 Pieces

Swiss watchmaker Louis Moinet has debuted an exclusive new tourbillon wristwatch, whose technique and design emphasize the artistry of an acclaimed watchmaking complication.  The Louis Moinet Vertalis Tourbillon features a black dial adorned with a radiating "Côtes du Jura" pattern, and two large apertures over the tourbillon carriage, and mainspring barrel, respectively.  The vertical bar extension that progresses from the tourbillon carriage to the top of the dial, connects with the three white gold elements on the outer rim of the case and emphasizes the symbolic importance of the timepiece's name.  It also points to an effective marriage of haute horlogerie craftsmanship and harmonious design elements. 

The Louis Moinet Vertalis Tourbillon watch is also notable for its highly complex 47mm gold case, which is made up of fifty individual pieces.  A sapphire exhibition back reveals the hand-wound movement with its distinctive "Côtes du Jura" bridge decorations.  Along with the fascinating one-minute tourbillon escapement, the Vertalis Tourbillon movement offers another technical delight--a distinctive winding mechanism with a shapely "octopus" spring.  The balance wheel oscillates at a rate of 21,600 alternations per hour, and movement power reserve is 72 hours.  

The Vertalis Tourbillon watch is inspired by the historical concepts of Louis Moinet, and the drawings penned by the great watchmaker in his notable 19th-century horological encyclopedia.  Limited to an edition of 12 pieces, the Louis Moinet Vertalis Tourbillon is fitted with an alligator strap and is supplied in an elegant presentation box whose elements evoke Moinet's 1848 "Traité d’Horlogerie".
