Montblanc is most well known for their luxury pens, but is also a very serious maker of watches as well as accessories, wallets and other leather goods. Their watch making arm has recently become much more serious about the creation of in-house movements, while their pen producing division is successful as ever at creating collectors’ delights. It is only a matter of time before they release a watch that can write, or a pen that can tell the time.
Aside from design innovation, Montblanc is vested in giving back. In addition to supporting various arts and entertainment events, Montblanc frequently has charitable donation promotions combined with product lines. They have released a line of items called the “Signature For Good” collection for this cause. Purchase of any of these items will automatically result in Montblanc donating 10% of the purchase price to UNICEF, to be used for the well known humanitarian organization’s programs for world-wide child literary and education. The program will run until May of 2010, and Montblanc will donate a minimum of $1.5 million to the cause. See Montblanc for details and an overview of the products in the Signature For Good collection of luxury products.
