A. Lange & Sohne Introduces Lange 1 For "Night Owls"

Since its debut in 1994, the A. Lange & Sohne Lange 1 watch has been a virtual synonym for German haute horlogerie; with its elegant yet charmingly idiosyncratic displays and superb craftsmanship, it has also become a beloved symbol of A. Lange & Sohne watchmaking.

For the first time, lovers of the the original (38.5mm) Lange 1 can obtain this classic timepiece with a dial that be read in the dark.  A. Lange & Sohne has introduced an 18K white gold version, which features an elegant argente dial in solid silver, and rhodium-plated gold hands accentuated with a strip of Superluminova material.  In addition to this luminous material on the time display and hour and minute hands, the power reserve hand and sector are also marked.

As is the case with every Lange 1, this new version will be fitted with sapphire crystals on both front and back, the latter allowing a fascinating glimpse of fine German horological workmanship.  The Caliber L901.1 features plates in German silver with a ribbed finish, a hand-engraved balance cock, and nine jewels set in gold chatons.  Technical elements of the L901.1 include dual mainspring barrels, a power reserve of over 72 hours, and a balance frequency of 21,600 beats per hour.

These A. Lange & Sohne watches are completed by a hand-sewn strap in crocodile leather and a massive 18-karat gold buckle engraved with the Lange signature.
