Joining the lineup of fine watch brands submitting unique and exceptional timepieces for the Only Watch 2009 charity auction is Bell & Ross, who has announced a distinctive singular model of its new BR 01 Airborne watch, officially dubbed the Airborne ONE. The distinctive skull & crossbones theme of the BR 01 Airborne--a tribute to the heroic Allied paratroopers of World War II--is in this version festooned with a striking alternation of black and white brilliant-cut diamonds against the carbon-blackened square stainless steel case. Completing this piece unique Bell & Ross watch is a strap in galuchat leather.
Set to take place in Monte Carlo on September 24th, the Only Watch 2009 auction brings together for the third year running a collection of remarkable luxury timepieces. The underlying cause is a particularly worthy one: to raise research funds for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a severe form of muscular dystrophy with a significant prevalence in boys. Bell & Ross feels that the new BR 01 Airborne, with its tribute to courage under fire, is an ideal watch to symbolize the daily struggles undertaken by those leading their lives while coping with this debilitating genetic disorder.
Only Watch 2009 will be held in Monte Carlo on September 24th, in conjunction with the Monaco Yacht Show. The Bell & Ross BR 01 Airborne ONE timepiece, along with the entries from thirty-three other prestigious watch brands, will be sold without a reserve price, all funds being donated to a leading organization committed to Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy research on a global scale. Prior to the auction, the watches will undertake a world tour under the guidance of Osvaldo Patrizzi of Patrizzi & Co Auctioneers, appearing for viewing sessions in Shanghai, Geneva, London, New York, and Milan.
