For Baselworld 2009, Swiss watchmaker Ulysse Nardin unveils a visually captivating new variant of its popular Maxi Marine Diver watch.  Polished titanium and rose gold redefine an emblematic Ulysse Nardin sports timepiece, which commands even greater presence on the wrist thanks to a larger case.  

The Ulysse Nardin Maxi Marine Diver Titanium watch measures 45mm in diameter, a dimension that is just over 2mm greater than other Maxi Marine Diver models.  Contrasting with the reflective titanium surfaces is a black dial with a guilloche pattern that suggests undulating ocean waves; the small seconds and power reserve subdials are somewhat more bold than on previous models, and feature hands that have a slightly different shape.  The pink gold unidirectional bezel--a feature essential for a true diving watch--displays the graduated scale in polished gold against a wave decorative motif.  Also in pink gold is a small medallion on the left side of the case; secured with two screws, it displays the individual number of the watch.

Animating the Ulysse Nardin Maxi Marine Diver Titanium watch is the self-winding UN-26 caliber.  Featuring a rapidly adjustable date display, a stop seconds function, and a power reserve indicator, this movement has a power reserve of 42 hours.  Each UN-26 caliber has earned a chronometer certificate after 15 days of comprehensive tests carried out by the Controle Officiel Suisse des Chronometres (COSC).  A sapphire exhibition window in screw-secured caseback shows off the circular Cotes de Geneve patterns on the bridges, and a ruthenium-colored central rotor.  

The Ulysse Nardin Maxi Marine Diver Titanium watch is equipped with a screw-down winding crown, and a flat sapphire crystal with an anti-glare treatment.  The timepiece is water resistant to 200 meters.  A rubber strap that bears the same decorative wave motif as the dial is fitted, along with two decorative elements and a folding clasp in pink gold, or titanium.
