the coasts of Australia, Indonesia and the Philippines. A great variety of oysters belong to this group of pearls accounting for the great diversity of color found, which is dependant on the kind of oyster; Silver Lipped oysters create white South Sea Pearls and Golden Lippped oysters produce golden pearls. In fact, the golden pearls have such an incredible warm natural golden glow that their color is said to be rarer, and thus more valued, than actual gold. Produced by rather large oysters, these pearls can thus become larger than the Akoya cultured pearls: most of them are more than 10mm.
